Swallowing problems are common, treatable, and often invisible from the outside. A swallow study lets us see exactly what is happening in the throat during eating and drinking.
What is a swallow study?
A swallow study is a short, in-person assessment of how you eat and drink. A thin camera gives us a clear view of the throat while you swallow food and liquid, so the parts of a swallow that no one can see or hear from the outside become visible.
What we see shapes what comes next: which foods and drinks are safe right now, which positions and techniques help, and what therapy should focus on.

When a swallow study is the right next step
